British APCO 2017: eCall – are you operationally ready

eCall based on 999/112 will come to the UK after the 31st March 2018, but the Public Safety Answering Point and the Emergency Services need to be ready by the 1st October 2017. The reception of these calls is a major change in the reception and processing of emergency calls for incidents on the highway.
For the first time accurate location will be provided automatically, the emergency call is made automatically by the car not a passenger or driver.
