SUMMARY:I_HeERO @ Strasbourg ITS Congress: live demo "The eCall Journey"
DESCRIPTION:Live demo “The eCall Journey” to feature eCall for \nPowered Two Wheeled vehicles\, lorries and coaches\nHazardous Good Vehicles\nAlso covering next generation 112 for eCall \nThe ITS European Congress in Strasbourg 19 to 22 June 2017 sets the stage for a live demonstration of eCall\, the emergency call system\, from car to control room. For the very first time\, an eCall demonstration will also show the potential future of eCall for Powered Two Wheelers (motorcycles)\, lorries and coaches as part of the I_HeERO project. \nThe I_HeERO team will present an update on eCall development progress including the challenges they have addressed in developing the system for particular vehicles\, such as those carrying hazardous loads or locations where terrestrial communication is not possible as well as the integration of Earth observation data with PSAP software. Visitors will see first-hand the features that the next generation of eCall may include and experts will be on-hand to answer questions. \nDemonstration vehicles including trucks\, bikes and cars will be on the stand showcasing e-Call and a demonstration system for the control room (PSAP) linked to Earth observation software. \nThe demonstration is organised by Satellite Applications Catapult\, in cooperation with ERTICO – ITS Europe and IRU. \nPracticalities: \n\nMeet the I_HeERO team at the I_HeERO stand in the exhibition area (part of the ERTICO stand – booth no. C12)\n\nThe I_HeERO project will have a dedicated space at the ERTICO stand during the ITS Congress in Strasbourg. Visitors are welcome to visit the I_HeERO stand to receive first-hand more information about the project. \n\nLarge eCall demonstration “The eCall Journey”\n\nThe demo will take place in area A on the map here below: \n \nAbout I_HeERO \nThe I_HeERO project (January 2015 – December 2017) aims to prepare the PSAP infrastructure to realise pan-European eCall\, boost Member States investment in the PSAP infrastructure and interoperability of the service\, prepares for the deployment of eCall for Hazardous Goods Vehicles (including Dangerous Goods) and Long Distance Buses and Coaches  and of eCall Powered Two Wheeled machine (PTW)\, performs PSAP Conformity Assessment and looks at advancements in the management of data and next generation 112. \nThe I_HeERO project operates in 11 EU Member States (Bulgaria\, Cyprus\, Czech Republic\, Finland\, Germany\, Greece\, Ireland\, Italy\, Luxembourg\, Portugal and Slovenia)\, includes about 100 commercial partners and Associated Partners. \nThe leader of the I_HeERO project is the German State of Lower Saxony\, under the Authority of the German Ministry of Transport BMVI. DESCRIPTION:The next Associated Webinar will take place 20 June 2017 from 13:00-14:30. This webinar will provide EU Member States the opportunity to gain insights into the process of PSAP conformity assessment. \nIn order to be able to join the webinar\, please consult the procedure on Associated Partners outlined here below. \nWhat are Associated Partners\nAll EU Member States are obliged to upgrade their PSAP for eCall in order to comply with the EU legislation. All interested parties\, Member States and commercial organisations\, that are not partners of the I_HeERO project are “Associated Partner”. \nAssociated Partners have access to a wide variety of “Reference implementations of eCall based on 112”. Member States will receive valuable information toward the PSAP upgrade and commercial organisations involved in eCall are allowed to test equipment or answer technical questions. \nI_HeERO Project materials are made available through a document web portal. \nHow to become Associated Partner\nInterested parties are requested to send an email to the I_HeERO Technical Implementation Officer\, Andy Rooke – ERTICO – ITS Europe: a.rooke@mail.ertico.com. Clearly explain your motivation and how you plan to contribute to the I_HeERO project. I_HeERO Consortium Partners must agree with your applications. The I_HeERO Steering Committee approves the applications. \nAssociated Partners Webinars\nAssociated Partners receive an invitation to the Associated Partners webinars organised by the I_HeERO project on a monthly basis. These webinars tackle various issues related to I_HeERO. Past webinars dealt with topics such as Architecture and costs for PSAP\, and IVS and PSAP demonstration. \n
