SUMMARY:I_HeERO demo tour
DESCRIPTION: \nI_HeERO demo tour crossing 5 European countries to highlight benefits of eCall for HGVs \nAn I_HeERO promotional tour will take place between mid-September and end of October 2017 involving several European countries. The tour will highlight the road safety benefits of eCall for HGVs (Hazardous Goods Vehicles) as a tool to save lives in accidents and benefits rescue teams on the ground by providing information on load (especially if dangerous goods are involved). It will promote the use of digitalised transport documents like e-CMR not only for their benefits in terms of road transport efficiency but also for their added value for road safety. \nDuring the said period\, a rigid frame truck equipped with an in-vehicle system(s) (IVS) will tour Europe and stop in five countries: Czech Republic\, Greece\, Italy\, the Netherlands and Slovenia. \neCall will be activated to stimulate a collision: a minimum set of data (MSD) will be sent by the IVS to a 112 PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) and/or PSAP simulator and will be completed with further information on truckload thanks to the use of the e-CMR solution. \nA first demonstration was performed at the ITS European Congress in Strasbourg 20 to 22 June 2017. \nThe demo tour targets the road transport industry\, European and national decision makers (MEPs\, Transport Ministries\, countries which have not yet ratified the e-CMR protocol)\, PSAP operators and rescue services; European\, national and specialised media\, and other relevant stakeholders. \nRead more about eCall for HGVs\, and buses and coaches I_HeERO eCall for HGV and buses and coaches \nAbout eCall for HGVs and buses and coaches leaflet I_HeERO HGV eCall leaflet \n

SUMMARY:I_HeERO – “Infrastructure Harmonised eCall European Pilot” implementation in Greece
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, 24 October 2017 the Greek partners of the I_HeERO – “Infrastructure Harmonised eCall European Pilot” project will present their results at the Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport facilities\, in Athens (Anastaseos 2 & Tsigante\, GR-156 69  Papagos\, Greece). The event is part of eCall for HGVs Demo Tour\, organised in several European cities\, including Athens\, to showcase the potential of eCall to save lives following traffic accidents involving Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs)\, buses and coaches. \nThe main objectives of the event in Athens are: \n\nTo present the Ι_HeERO final achievements and outcomes;\nTo highlight the road safety benefits of eCall for HGVs and passenger cars;\nTo show the road safety benefits an electronic consignment note (eCMR) can bring to eCall for HGVs by providing information on transported goods.\n\nDuring the event you will have the opportunity to learn about the road safety benefits of eCall for HGVs thanks to a hands-on demonstration with an eCall equipped truck.
